Sakura once again gave him one of her most genuine smiles. She had never seen someone like him before, as what said, but Sakura thought he was very kind. Their introductions to each other was a little odd but nonetheless, she’ll let is pass. “Like I said, no problem at all~!” She clasped her hands behind her back as she leaned against the wall of the building that they were using for shelter from the rain.

Her green eyes then glanced back at him and she nodded, “Ah its okay, your choice to keep it or give it to me, I don’t mind.” The kunoichi never minded at all; she would give little things to people when they need it—it was just a simple trait of hers because she wanted to help them. This sort of habit started when she started doing medical work in the hospital with Shizune-san and Tsunade-sama. After responding to him, Sakura took the time to look at rain—which was pitter-pattering from the roof and to the ground.

She had always admired the rain; it made gentle sounds and she also liked the clear beauty of it. Sure she wasn’t a fan of herself getting wet from the rain but she appreciated it when she observed it fall from the sky.

“Actually … I just got here … I have no idea what’s going on. Are you from this city?”

“Oh, you’re new Araragi-san?” Sakura said, looking back at him with rather surprised eyes. Sakura knew she shouldn’t be surprised about it now—since those scientists continued to bring people in the city without a care in the world. Why do they keep doing this…? They just want to gain more from this social experiment don’t they…?

Sakura stopped herself from gritting her teeth as she looked at him, “O-Oh, no I’m not a part of this city… I guess you must be aware that I’m in the same boat as you; I was practically dragged in…” She sighed, rubbing her hands together to try and get rid of the rain-wet stains.

He appreciatively put the handkerchief in his pocket. He would at least keep it until the rain was over with at the very least! Seriously, what a bummer the pitter patting rain had to be what invited him to this oddity. The young brunette was surely cursed with bad luck. He was always plagued by unfortunate things.

Loud sisters; attacked by cat girls; crappy home life; an annoying lost cow; a lesbian monkey in love with his girlfriend — a girlfriend who in herself had been a cause of unluck, via staples inside his cheeks! Though he really could not say that he hated his life. Because even though he was completely unlucky, he was still a little lucky. He wasn’t dead— that was a big one considering what he did on a regular basis— he had good friends even if they were crazy— his girlfriend was hot

“O-Oh, no I’m not a part of this city… I guess you must be aware that I’m in the same boat as you; I was practically dragged in…”

The expression he wore faded. He bowed his head, his overgrown bangs covering his eyes entirely. So she was like him, being brought to this place. Which meant that the amount of oddities were spreading, growing… the more people that knew about the oddities, how many people would be in danger?

This business was not a safe one. And while he hated to ever call for help, despite the most worse of situations, he wanted to keep everyone unharmed by the strange things the world secretly held. It was not a fact of himself that he was fully away of… but something that drove his actions. Even being an awkward kid without much influence, it was the most that he could hope for from this existence.

-CUT-

Rain, rain, go away, come back again some other day—

-CUT-

“This rain is really awful…” He mumbled, watching as it cascaded over the awning the two of them hid under with a long sigh, completely dropping the subject they were on, preoccupied by the feelings he really didn’t understand.

Sakura raised an eyebrow a bit, noticing that he was observing her. She didn’t know why but it made her feel a bit uncomfortable—not in a creepy sort of way but in an insecure one. She thought there was maybe something on her face or she scared him or her forehead was big or her hair was too vibrant, etc… many things buzzed in the kunoichi’s little head that she almost lost track of her thoughts. Whoa, hang in there Sakura! You are over thinking this wayyy too much~!

When she had looked back at him, she saw him shaking his head. Maybe it was just so sudden that she had appeared in front him and stuff. She still felt bad thought about splashing unnecessary water at him. She had to admit though—there was something pretty different about the dark-haired male that Sakura couldn’t comprehend with. Maybe it was because everyone in Hive City was just so different…?

She had nodded when he had thanked her and smiled brightly at him. “You can keep the handkerchief if you want, my repay as thanks~! I hope you can get to use it again when it gets wet—it really helps and it absorbs water pretty good.” Sakura had assured him in a friendly way. She blinked when she finally had heard of his name.

“Koyomi… Araragi…” She repeated out of her pale pink lips, making sure she had pronounced it right. Sakura thought it was such an odd name but then again, she liked it! It sounded nice! “Nice to meet you then, Araragi-kun! Eto… you have a nice ring to your name—it different and I think its pretty cool.” She complimented, hoping to break the awkwardness between them. Sakura thought it would be okay to start a conversation, especially since they were stuck in the rain.

“So, are you new around here in Hive City or… have you been here a while?” She questioned with curious green eyes.

He turned his eyes away from the girl, looking up at the sky, noticing that she noticed that he had been noticing her — somehow, someway, he was sure that if he did or said anything awkward Senjougahara would absolutely find him and absolutely make sure he regretted what he had done.

With a clearing of his throat, he shut his eyes with a firm nod. To people on the outside it might look a little strange as he balled his hand into a fist, a determined expression of concentration crossing his features, the ahoge on his head mimicking in focus. Certainly strange — considering he stood like that for a solid moment, unmoving.

I will not let her find a reason to get revenge!!!!

Though Araragi would never admit to it, he one hundred percent was a dog on a chain with the leash in Senjougahara’s soft but harsh, nicely manicured, warm — (good god he was going to get a nosebleed thinking about her HANDS) — hands.

-Unnumbered Cut-

“Thank you very much, Haruno-san!” He said with a bright expression, acting completely normal as if that moment of time had not passed in the slightest. “Once the rain passes, I’ll make sure to return it to you, though! I don’t want to take anything from you …” More like he didn’t want to be found with another girl’s handkerchief.

Pausing for a second, he put his hand behind his head. “Actually … I just got here …” He said quietly. While this place was strange, and he should probably keep important information to himself; how could this little girl be a danger?! “I have no idea what’s going on. Are you from this city?”
